Results
A double-blind, controlled study was performed, with 61 patients using specific acupuncture points or a sham procedure. There was no significant difference in psychiatric ratings between the active and sham groups, but the active group required a significantly lower dose of risperidone. An open-label study with 139 patients was also conducted in which the response rate was reported to be 72.7%.
