PANSS, cognitive battery
Results
Seventy patients were randomized to receive acetylsalicyclic acid or placebo given adjunctively to standard treatment. Patients randomized to acetylsalicyclic acid showed a significant benefit on the total PANSS score and the PANSS positive subscale compared to patients receiving placebo. There were no significant effects on cognitive tests. Patients who had the lowest ratio of T helper 1 to T helper 2 ratios showed the largest symptomatic improvement.
