Results
100 subjects with schizophrenia were randomized to pregnenolone 500 mg./d. or placebo for 16 weeks to assess possible effects on negative symptoms. SANS showed no difference. PANSS showed improvement for negative symptoms at 12 weeks but not at 16 weeks. Thus it was essentially a negative study.
