Results
Forty-four (44) patients with BP depression were randomized to light therapy (n=18), low-output negative ion generator (n=20), and high-output negative ion generator (n=6) for 8 weeks. During that time, they were maintained on a stable dose of psychotropic medication. There were no significant differences between the groups in outcome, although the number tested in the third group was too small to be statistically significant.
