Results

Sixty (60) patients with bipolar depression or major depression and amphetamine abuse were treated with citicoline up to 2000 mg/day or placebo for 12 weeks. Those on citicoline stayed in the study significantly longer and had a significant improvement in depressive symptoms. There was no difference in the two groups in amphetamine use, YMRS, or cognition.
