In addition to funding treatment trials and supporting the tissue repository, SMRI provides support to the Stanley Neurovirology Laboratory and the SPECTS Program that together are investigating the Gene–Environment interactions that increase the risk of developing psychiatric disorders. SMRI is also a supporting organization for the Treatment Advocacy Center which is dedicated to eliminating barriers to the timely and effective treatment of severe psychiatric disorders.
